About Us

Our Mission

Community Media Access Partnership (CMAP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We empower community members, small businesses, and non-profit organizations to thrive in a digital world by providing access to media tools, training, and television distribution on local public access channels.

 

We are located downtown Gilroy, near old city hall. CMAP provides a range of production tools and training, available to the community little to no cost. Our facility includes a TV studio, podcast studio, editing suites, meeting spaces and more.

In addition, CMAP has three television channels on Comcast Xfinity, Spectrum and YouTube. These platforms are available to our community producers to distribute the video and audio programming they create for the public. 

We are located at 7500 Monterey Street, in the heart of Downtown Gilroy, California. This lively area is surrounded by local shops, cozy cafés, and art galleries, creating a unique blend of culture and community. The neighborhood features both historic and modern architecture that reflects Gilroy’s agricultural roots. Known as the ‘Garlic Capital of the World,’ Gilroy is famous for its annual Garlic Festival. With its friendly atmosphere, this area offers a great place to explore and experience the local culture.

The Team

Alfredo Murillo

Government Operator Tech, Assistant Video Editor

Alfredo supports CMAP coverage of local government meetings, including using remote control cameras to capture different angles of the presenters and displaying lower thirds graphics and title cards. As assistant video editor, he offloads and organizes project footage into specific folders and labels video clips. Alfredo enjoys exercising, spending time outdoors, listening to music, watching soccer, watching tv and movies, and hanging out with family and friends. His favorite teams to watch are FC Barcelona and Arsenal.

Braulio Ramirez Perez

Program and Government Meeting Manager

Braulio programs CMAP’s local TV channels, determining the content schedule and selecting new content to feature on the CMAP TV and YouTube channels. He coordinates CMAP coverage of government meetings for Hollister, San Benito County and San Juan Bautista, including scheduling techs to record and broadcast these meetings. In his free time, Braulio enjoys playing video games and listening to music — especially metal, hip hop or rancheras — working out at the gym; and spending time with his girlfriend and friends.

Daniel Renteria

Camera Operator, TV Channel Programmer, Assistant Editor

Daniel supports content production as a lead camera operator, programming for CMAP's local TV channels and is an assistant content editor. When he’s not working, he enjoys watching baseball games and listening to music. Movies are a big interest and part of his life; Daniel grew up watching the “Rocky,” “Star Wars” franchises and super hero movies such as the “Avengers.” “A big goal of mine,” says Daniel, “is to be a part of the movie-making process as a camera operator or even involved with set design.”

Henry Torres

Information Technology Assistant

Henry supports CMAP’s website, coverage of government meetings and content editing. In his free time he enjoys photography, cars and spending time with friends.

Jason Mattingly

Information Technology Manager, Lead Cinematographer

Jason oversees the CMAP network infrastructure and website, and is involved with adding new technologies to CMAP Studios and for the clients CMAP works with. His interests include learning VFX or visual effects and working out at the gym.

Jonathan Silva Cruz

Audio Technician, Production Support

As the lead audio technician, Jon is responsible for all audio aspects of CMAP's productions and programs. His duties include recording, mixing and mastering audio for post-production, assisting with setup and live monitoring of audio during events and providing general support to the production team as needed. In his free time, Jon enjoys being outdoors and traveling. One of his favorite pastimes is networking with the artists he enjoys listening to, as well as collaborating on personal projects. A standout memory was meeting and having a conversation with Nardwuar, and visiting Japan. "It's an experience I will never forget," says Jon.

Marti Silent

Production Development Manager

At CMAP TV Studios, Marti oversees the development of in-house and community productions, as well as managing post-production workflows from start to finish. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the Cinematic Arts and Technology program at California State University, Monterey Bay and feels fortunate to be working in community-based media in her local area. Outside of CMAP, Marti enjoys taking production courses at Gavilan College under the mentorship of Grant Richards, where she continues to write, direct, edit and explore all aspects of filmmaking. She is a professional illustrator and concept artist, often participating in local artist walks and creating digital art on the go.

Mike Sanchez

Executive Director, Interim Chair

A serial entrepreneur and life-long Gilroy resident, Mike is also a long-time believer and supporter of local public television and CMAP TV. He feels blessed to be surrounded by an amazing team of professionals, and is focused on making CMAP the best it can be and serving the residents of the communities in CMAP’s coverage areas. In his spare time Mike enjoys hanging out with his wife Debbi and dog Roast Beef, reading, writing and learning. He is the co-founder of One Giving Tree, a nonprofit providing Christmas tree kits to local kids and their families. He is the editor and co-publisher of "Gilroy Morgan Hill TODAY" lifestyle magazine and serves on the board of several local nonprofit organizations.

Nataly Delgado

Administrative Assistant, Marketing Coordinator

Nataly is a Business Administration graduate from the University of California, Riverside, with a passion for marketing and brand building. She works directly with the executive director and admin team to create marketing strategies and campaigns. She also assists with filing, record keeping, document handling, and general office duties. In her free time, Nataly enjoys visiting new places, running, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Noah Chaput

Lead Editor, Production Assistant

Noah is primarily involved with the production and post-production states of media production. When he’s not working, Noah attends Gavilan College and enjoys reading and rock climbing.

Santiago Moreno

Front Desk Concierge, Community Coordinator

Santiago is a passionate creator who finds joy in painting, making music, and connecting with new people. When he’s not working, you’ll often find him hiking in nature or relaxing by the beach, two places that inspire his creativity. Santiago spends most of his free time at home, bringing to life whatever his heart feels, whether it’s a melody, a brushstroke or a new idea. “I'm driven by a dream,” says Santiago, “to become a rockstar and share my art with the world. Creating is more than a hobby; it’s my way of life.”

Stephanie Navarro Rocha

Community News and Update Coordinator

Stephanie is a Journalism and Communications Studies graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a passion for storytelling and video production. She covers local stories, news events and more for CMAP. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, dancing and spending time with family.
